To Go Deeper
At the heart of us...
Of everybody, really, is a story waiting to be told. The common conceit of most fictional narratives is that stories exist in and of themselves, because of themselves, for themselves. The Westside Fairytales — and, in fact, all of Tyler Bell's works — eschews the notion that stories merely happen.
Or that they can even end.
The Westside Fairytales takes place in the same universe as everything else Tyler Bell has written. At the heart of all his work is the premise that there aren't thousands, millions, billions of stories, but rather as many chapters in a single story. A story with a cast of trillions, where no member is too small for his own soliloquy, or too grand for a bit part. A story told on the stage of the universe itself, with an eternal runtime.
We at the Westside Fairytales invite you to take a deeper look at the stories we present, to find the hidden connections between characters. Some of them are subtle, others plainly obvious, but none of them any less important than the other.
For the casual listener without the time to delve into these deeper truths, thank you for listening at all. We love that you're here, helping keep the lights on. But for those dedicated few, you literary spelunkers, know that there is something waiting for you between the lines of every story in this collection. A TRUE PLOT stranger and larger than anything you could dream of.
And it's waiting there for you.
And it's patient.
So very, very patient.
